Hello,
It’s impossible to open JSP or HTML file with the designer.

Nothing appears if I open the files; the task eclipse stays alive and does nothing in
the control task panel (in french: pas de réponse, I suppose in english is waiting response).

configuration :
MyEclipse 4.0 M3
Eclipse 3.1
Nitrox 2.1 (build 245)
JSDK 1.4.2.6
thanks.

Can you tell us what platform you’re working on? The visual designer only operates on Windows and requires IE 6 to be installed, so if you’re running an earlier version you’ll need to update to get the designer functionality.

What is the build id of your Eclipse 3.1 installation? It must be the final 3.1 release version as 4.0M3 is not compatible with any previous version.

Can you try restarting with -clean (eclipse.exe -clean) to rebuild the plugin cache.

If that doesn’t do it, can you please post all the information we request in the Posting Guidelines thread at the top of this forum? That will give us some context to more further.

OK, then that platform isn’t really supported for the visual designer. However, we still include our ‘Classic’ JSP editor for such platforms. You can access it by right-clicking on a JSP file in the Package Explorer view and selecting “Open With…” > MyEclipse ‘Classic’ JSP Editor.
Additionally, you can set that editor to be the default JSP editor, instead of the designer at Window > Preferences > General > File Associations > *.jsp and selecting it and clicking the ‘Default’ button.

Thanks,
I try to install IE6.0 on NT 4.0 and see what’s happening.
