    I’m using ME 6 on fedora x64 and java 1.5.0_13 (have tried 32 and 64 bit versions) and continue to get the error:

    An internal error occurred during: “MyEclipse Memory Monitor”.
    gnu::java::lang::management::VMMemoryPoolMXBeanImpl::getUsage (::java::lang::String *) not implemented

    whenever the IDE starts up. This makes ME require at least 512 MB of heap (which is annoying, since on Windows I never need to give it more than 128 MB and if its usage ever tops 100 I’m shocked).

    I have other issues as well, relating to JSP indexing not working and constantly popping up in my face; I suspect there is a versioning issue somewhere in here… perhaps I should just not bother trying to use ME on linux x64? has anyone else had this problem or is anyone using ME6 with eclipse 3.3.3 on x64 linux?

    There are some know issues on the 64 bit OS. You will have to run ME on the 32 bit version. Can you give me the details of your 32 bit nstallation incase the problem persists. We can try and get that to work.

    I’m having the same problem running myeclipse 5.5.1 under myeclipse 3.2 under the ubuntu distribution. I used the MyEclipse update site download to install myeclipse.

    This issue is real bothersome as I cannot go to some screens in eclipse without the application crashing. It was working fine before I installed myeclipse. If there is some place you can point me to give you more helpfull debugging information please let me know.

    I dont use the memory monitor so if there was a way i could disable it I’d be happy with that even.

    Same error here. Here’s the details from the error dialog.

    An internal error occurred during: “MyEclipse Memory Monitor”
    gnu::java::lang::management::VMMemoryPoolMXBeanImpl::getUsage (::java::lang::String *) not implmented

    OK, I figured out the problem. A recent Ubuntu update had reconfigured GNU Java as my default VM. Running ‘update-alternatives –config java’ and choosing the Sun 1.6 version fixed my issue.
