support-swapnaModeratorcharleyc,
Sorry that you are seeing this issue.
Looks like the installation is not complete and its missing some components.
Can you please try a repair of your MyEclipse Installation ? Rerun the MyEclipse 2013 installer and you will get options to either Repair your installation or Uninstall the installation. You can either choose Repair or choose Uninstall followed by running the installer again to install MyEclipse.
Let us know how it works for you.
jbeebeMemberI seem to be having the same (or a very similar) problem based on the log charleyc attached. I had tried reinstalling, repairing, 32-bit and 64-bit installations, as well as changing the install directory to no avail. I even repeated all of these with a ‘Run as Administrator’ to rule out any strange permissions obstacles.
Ultimately I was able to get myEclipse to launch by setting the program to run in Compatibility Mode for Windows 7. This should be a sustainable solution, but I’m still curious as to what might cause this problem.
I have all the of the usual troublemakers disabled: User Account Control and the additional UAC security policies added with Win8/Server2012.
Do you have any further suggestions?

support-swapnaModeratorjbeebe,
Sorry that you are seeing this issue. This looks like a corrupted install.
1. Can you please check if the downloaded MyEclipse installer’s MD5 and file size match with the one listed on the Downloads page : http://www.myeclipseide.com/index.php?name=Recommend_Us&req=Download&version=ME ?
2. Please let us know what location you installed the MyEclipse to. Also share the OS and version details.
jbeebeMemberSwapna,
I considered that as the cause as well, so I tried copying the installer to a Windows 7 64-bit workstation and the install completed successfully on the first try as I was able to start the program with no errors. The installer itself differs from the one available on the download page currently in that it’s marked as “pro-2013-SR2-offline whereas the published one is “pro-2013-SR2a-offline.” The SR2a installer is 2kb larger than my SR2 installer exe, if that helps verify it’s integrity.I tried installing the software into the C:\Program Files\myEclipse directory as well as the default location in my profile path (c:\users\[username]\myEclipse) with the same result.
The environment I’m installing this into is Windows Server 2012 R2 OS.
support-tonyKeymasterjbeebe,
Thanks for trying with Windows 7. From our end, it also works on Windows 8 but we don’t have a Windows Server machine to try this on. As I understand it, Windows Server is not designed as a desktop system so that may have something to do with it.
If you’re happy with running in Windows 7 compatibility mode, then that may be the only solution. Otherwise, it might be worth trying to install a standard eclipse distribution and see if that works in native mode. If it does, then installing from our update site (or from an archived update site) might be worth a go. Eclipse 3.8.2 can be downloaded using this link.
From the log file it’s hard to say what has gone wrong, as the program seems unable to see many/most of the plug-ins when running natively.
If you try the eclipse install, please let us know how you get on.
