I am setting up some new MyEclipse Web projects in CVS. I noticed that when I checkout the projects, the “.mymetadata” file is tagged as a binary file. The other eclipse properties files are tagged as “ASCII -kkv”. Since the .mymetadata file is an xml file, I added it to the list of files that Eclipse thinks are ASCII files via the menu Window / Preferences / Team / File Content.

I don’t know if this matters that I do this, but we do have a mix of developers on UNIX and WIndows platforms.

Is it possible for the MyEclipse installer to configure Eclipse so that these xml properties files are tagged as ASCII? That way I don’t have to tell the other developers to perform this configuration step.

    Thanks

    keith,
I will check on this and if it is fairly dooable (cross platform and easy to do from the installer) I’ll file it so we can get it in. Thanks for the keen eye on this one.
