I was trying to install myeclipse on my Windows 2000 system. I did not have eclipse currently installed, and the installer kept failing. Apparently it was looking for an eclipse directory with a file named .eclipseproducts to avoid conflicts with an existing installation. I created the directory and a blank file and then the installation continued.

Does your product work without a previous version of eclipse? Perhaps I misunderstood, cause it does not run after the install. Maybe I missed it in the documentation, but I didn’t see Eclipse a requirement, only jdk 1.4

    Thanks.

Sorry for the confusion. MyEclipse installs as a product extension to Eclipse 2.1. Currently, we do not bundle Eclipse 2.1 inside the installer although that is under consideration for a future release. For installation to succeed, please first download and install Eclipse 2.1 from the Eclipse website at http://www.eclipse.org
