Hi, I got a new renewed license from my boss, but it doesn`t seem to work.

Our current group (7 people) license expires on April 21 so the boss ordered new ones (12 people this time), but when I try to enter the new Subscriber ID and Code I get no error message, but the “Finish” button stays disabled. I was originally using ME 6.5, then updated to 6.6 using the built-in updater so I thought maybe a clean install would fix it so I uninstalled ME, installed the new 7.1.1, but still the same behavior.

I found this other post, but when I tried and started ME, it told me my key might be a forged one so I reverted to the old one.

Do I have to wait for my old license to expire? Our new license seems to be a 3 year license, could that be the issue? Others in the group seemed to be able to upgrade, but I think they are using older (5.X versions) so what is wrong?

    Zenthar,
This usually happens when you enter something wrong…maybe spaces in front of or behind the ID or code…or enter a new code but not new ID. That’s the only reason that happens. Can you send an email to subscriptions@genuitec.com with the ID and Code and explain your problem.

Since some people DO search forums before opening new threads, I though it could be useful to update this one.

It turns-out the system has some trouble dealing with 3 years license. MyEclipse won’t accept a license (but won’t give any error message either) that will expire in 3 years or more (>= 3 years). My prior license expired on April 21 2009 and my new one expires on April 21 2012 so yesterday I was stuck with the expired license nag screen because it would still not accept the new one (if the limit is in #of days, might be good to raise it from 1095 (3 x 365) to at least 1096 to cover leap years like 2012). Now everything works and it shouldn’t be a problem for another 3 years :P.
