I just tried to install myeclipse-7.1.0-macosx. myeclipse-71-installer chugs along for a while, then up pops a window stating: Error upgrading profiles, An unexpected error occurred validating the selected profile, Reason: Java heap space.

After that I tried looking at the package contents, and edited myeclipse-71-installer.ini to these values:

  -showsplash 
  org.eclipse.platform
  -vmargs
  -Xdock:icon=../Resources/pulse-macosx.icns
  -XstartOnFirstThread
  -Xms512m
  -Xmx512m
  -XX:MaxPermSize=1012m
  -Dorg.eclipse.swt.internal.carbon.smallFonts

I still got the same message. (Maybe I didn’t use the right settings? Or maybe that file isn’t relevant?)

I am a licensed user, but my other install got messed up today, so it’s quite urgent that I re-install. Help!

I’m sorry you are running into this, is there a chance the installer is corrupted? We are actually preparing new Mac OS X 7.5 installers that will be avialable tomorrow if you can wait — if you cannot wait and need that install done right now, you can grab the Manual Installs of MyEclipse, the Archived Update site (and build your own install) or install Pulse (www.poweredbypulse.com) and pull MyEclipse from there all onto your Mac.

I got the new copy this morning, but had another problem when I ran the installer.

This time it gives the error: Error upgrading profiles, An unexpected error occurred validating the selected profile, Reason: Required software could not be found in the catalog: 1652_0.0.0

Something is definitely going on with that installer — we’re getting these new ones vetted today and will have them out this afternoon then you should be all set.
