Hi. I’m running the 3.0 install. As mentioned in the FAQ I closed on my files in my workspace and all perspectives except Resources. I then ran the install with no problems. However when I then double click My Eclipse (this starts up Eclipse) I get the dialog box for Pending Configuration Changes. However nothing is listed there. All I can do is cancel from there. It says I can process changes later under Help->Software Updates->Manage Configuration… but this does nothing (just an hourglass for a second then nothing). Find and Install software updates also does nothing.

Also I notice when I go into Preferences and poke around I get periodic errors now. For example under Workbench when I select Compare/Path I get an error – “…unable to load class org.eclipse.compare.internal.ComparePreferencePage”.

I am running Eclipse Version: 3.0.0 (Build id: 200310101454) on Windows XP Professional SP2 with JDK 1.4.2. After I uninstall MyEclipse everything works fine in Eclipse as before. But of course I’d like to get the MyEclipse stuff working.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Jeff,
The reason you are having problems is that you are not running Eclipse 3.0 final, you are running a *very* early M-build of Eclipse 3.0, the final release of Eclipse 3.0 was on June 25th followed by a bugfix release of 3.0.1 a few months later. I would highly encourage you to do a fresh install of Eclipse 3.0.1 SDK in a new location on your computer, and then install MyEclipse against that install. Also when you start the new Eclipse install and point it at your existing workspace, be sure to use the -clean command line argument to start it so Eclipse can erase and rebuild the plugin cache. A lot has changed between the M-builds and Eclipse 3.0.1 and not -clean’ing will most certainly cause problems and errors for you.
