I have read somewhere in these fora that it is possible to have a WebApp that works in the absence of an internet connection. Is this in fact true? … and if it is how does this trick work?

My App does not need any external resource, but currently will not run if I turn off the WiFi – is there some clever browser cache trick to circumvent this?

Yes you can. Make sure you enable the Offline cache support.

    Thanks a million Cincy!

Just to confirm – that is set in the Design Centre for the .mobi homepage

‘Offline Support’ set to ‘AppCache Support’ ?

Oh and, Cincy, the link to your cheatsheets in your signature does not work

    Yep.

I just tested it an it came up, make sure you are viewing it in a web kit bowser or it may not come up right. Safari or Chrome. Actullay best viewed on a smartphone though.

Thanks, CincyPlanet. It now works on my iPad, Safari, and as my computers are running Windows XP with IE7 that explains why I had no joy earlier.
