Until yesterday my Open Implementation shortcut worked fine. Today it doesn’t.

The shortcut I refer to is Control + click on a method call and you are prompted with either “Open Declaration” or “Open Implementation” . If the latter is chosen then a list of implementations of the interface will be listed, and then you can choose which one to open.

What happens now, is that once I click “Open Implementation” only the Interface is shown – none of the implementations are listed.

Also If I press F4 when on the method call the Hierarchy view should open up with the Interface and all Implementations, but again only the Interface is shown.

What’s up? I’m using MyEclipse version 8.6 Build id: 8.6-20100723

Nigel,

Sorry to hear you are running into this issue. Have you changed any preferences or added any plugin to your ME profile recently? Please answer below queries –

1. Copy and paste your installation details here. Open MyEclipse IDE, from menu options click on MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details
2. Clear your .log file located at [your workspace dir]/.metadata/.log, replicate issue and attach .log
3. What is the editor where content-assist is not working? In case it is Java Editor, open Window > Preferences > Java > Editor > Content Assist and click on [Restore Defaults], [Apply] and [OK]. If it is JavaScript Editor or Ant Editor, use the relevant menu item.
4. In case this is still an issue, please include details of third party plugins added to your ME profile with details of plugin update site / download weblink. And screenshot of MyEclipse Configuration Center > Software tab.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve tried what you suggested, but it’s still not working.

Thank you for the screenshot, installation details and log file. You can ignore the issue reported in your .log file, it is a non-issue. Your screenshot shows that your profile is disconnected and not in sync. I would recommend you do a re-install using pulse. Please follow below steps –
1. Open Pulse (Start > Programs > Pulse > Pulse Explorer or open C:\Users\nigels\AppData\Local\Genuitec\Pulse Explorer\pulse-explorer.exe or download from http://www.poweredbypulse.com)
2. Login to pulse. You could also login anonymously
3. Select “Eclipse – Galileo” realm from top left hand corner dropdown
4. From “My Profiles”, right click on “MyEclipse 8.6” and click on [re-install and run]
5. This is going to open a wizard which will guide you through the rest of the steps
