Under conditions I haven’t yet nailed down, Organize Imports in MyEclipse will simply remove all static imports, both specific and wildcarded. This basically means that I can choose not to run Organize Imports and manually organize them, or run it and then manually re-add the static imports.

I did some searching on the forums and the website, but couldn’t find mention of this. Is this a known issue?

I was able to reproduce the issue that you have pointed you. I’ll ask the dev team to look into this issue and get back to you with an update asap.
