I want to install the plug-in

    QJ-Pro

The Eclipse instructions say to click on

Help > Software Updates > Find and Install.

Unfortunately, those menu choices have been changed by MyEclipse.

I tried what I thought was the correct way using PULSE, but evidently that’s not working or I did it wrong.

    douglasmhurst,

Let me clarify MyEclipse doesn’t support an integrated QJ-Pro. But you can add the plugin by following the below instructions –
    1. Click on Help > Software Updates > Add/Remove Software
    2. Click on [Add]
    3. Click on [Add Site]
    4. Add the name and URL of the update site. I have researched in the net and have come across http://qjpro.sourceforge.net/eclipse.html this mentions the update site as – http://qjpro.sourceforge.net/update_site and click on [OK]. As this is 3rd party, please ensure this is a valid update site.
    5. Select QJ Pro as shown in the screenshot
    6. And apply the changes to MyEclipse
    7. You will be prompted to restart MyEclipse or apply changes. Please restart MyEclipse
    8. To verify click on Help > About MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench > Plug-in Details. Look for plug-in name QJ-Pro Eclipse integration.

Good example, Joy. This ought to be a sticky.

Turns out that exactly how I did it. When I reboot, as suggested, I get an error that the JRE’s cannot be updated. This occurs whether I install Findbugs (supplied) or QJ-Pro from their update_site URL.

After I reboot, I can’t create a Web Project and If I click to expand some projects the “+” just goes away and nothing expands.

I’m holding my breath. It appears the problem may have been going back to my old workspace upon booting up into the new MyEclipse 7.1 workspace. I performed the following this time:

    1) Reinstall MyEclipse 7.1.1
    2) Boot into Workspaces/MyEclipse 7.1
    3) Import required old projects from old workspace and get them working
    4) Install Findbugs
    5) Install QJ-Pro

… and all seems to be well at the moment.

    Thank you Ray.

    douglasmhurst,

Good to hear you have everything under control. Just being curious, what was your earlier version of MyEclipse?
