I think what I really meant was that the visual designer needs a more “artistic feel” in general.
Users are quite limited at the moment unless they want to explore the depths of Google for custom “stuff”. A few examples I have encountered with MobiOne limitations:
– Can’t make custom coloured back or forwards icons/buttons.
– Can’t make custom coloured navigation, tab or tool bars.
– There is no iPhone specific functionality i.e. spinners.
– The provided button icons are very limited why not create a range of generic ones, for example a shopping trolley would be useful.
– The layering functionality needs a “move to top” “move to bottom” option and the move up/down options shouldn’t be on right click.
– (Personally I don’t think that) The “auto arranging” functionality works well i.e. when an image becomes locked to a list element even if it is not in a pre defined, auto-sizing space.
– On the latest version of MobiOne, I have some semi transparent icons on a semi transparent tool bar, when the app is started in a browser the annoying “hit + to set as home page” thing pops up and breaks the three buttons in the middle. Furthermore, I believe it is affecting the images in a odd way as copying the image from the browser to paint does not copy the image, but instead copies an image used in the start-up/pop-up thing (the bit that looks like WiFi signal bars.) The pop up thing also strips the three middle buttons of their functionality i.e. they are no longer recognised as buttons, also it doesn’t seem to affect the buttons on my customer tab bar below the transparent tool bar. If I disable the annoying pop-up in the code then the buttons work fine.
That’s all I have found so far……
Thanks.
