    I chose Preferences->General->Web Browser; Which caused a “pop-up” box to appear

    “Windows No Disk
    There is no disk in the drive, Please insert a disk in drive”

    I could not dismiss the pop up;

    Finally another box poped up saying that the “Program is not responding’
    I clicked the “X” in the top right corner to dismiss the “Program not Responding” pop-up and it went away
    along with the “Windows No Disk” pop-up, What was that All About???

    I can now go to Web Browser with out this nutty behavior, seems like a one time occurence

    I have internet explorer and firefox installed, neither is estableshed as the “Default” on winxp

    Web Browser choose “System Web Browser”, with the options for Firefox and Internet Explorer,
    did this happen because I didn’t have a default browser?

    I revisited Window->Preferences->General-Web Browser many times to check it and it hasn’t happened since

    The choices in preferences is Defu

    Since the “Web Browser” command is tied to your platform, my guess is when it triggered the OS to open the “Default Web Browser” the OS choked and got it’s wires crossed in some fashion.

    I’ve seen something similar happen to a guy that had installed Office and Visual studio (who both seem to change IE) and then removed one and some components of the other. It basically screwed up his IE install, so when he went to use the Web Browser feature, it was all broken because at the OS level the call itself of “Open Default Web Browser” had it’s wires all crossed.

    Atleast I’m glad to hear it’s not happening anymore.
