When I save my jsp file I get this problem from MyEclipse javax/servlet/jsp/el/VariableResolver on line 0?

When I run the jsp in question I get this…

exception
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /index.jsp(28,2) According to TLD or attribute directive in tag file, attribute startRow does not accept any expressions

anyone run into this problem, or know what’s wrong?

This is the line in question:

<sql:query var=”prods” startRow=”${param.row}” maxRows=”${numRows}”>
…..
</sql:query>

OS: Mac OS 10.3
Eclipse: 3.0 M4 Installed Freshly for MyEclipse
No other plugins are installed…

I haven’t tested this behaviour on Eclipse 2.1 maybe I should get to that… 🙂

Can you take a look at this thread:

The gist seems to be that you are probably using the default J2EE 1.3 libraries in your project while the use of expressions is a JSP 2.0/Servlet 2.4 spec feature. So you may need to remove the J2EE 1.3 library from your project and point to the servlet-api.jar and jsp-api.jar JARs from your Tomcat 5 installation (add them to your project).

Does this fix the problem?

fixed the exception in tomcat.

was changed to…

<%@ taglib prefix=”sql” uri=”http://java.sun.com/jstl/sql_rt&#8221; %>

When is support for the j2ee 1.4 spec going to be incorporated into MyEclipse? The roadmap doesn’t say.

I requested it be added, hopefully for 2.7 GA, but surely soon after if not in 2.7 GA.
