support-joyMemberuwe.plonus,
My sincere apologies for facing this issue. I need to get to the root cause. Can you quickly answer few queries for me –
1. What is your OS? Can you look into your MyEclipse installation folder and look for the .ini file. Can you copy and paste the contents here for me?
2. You mentioned above that you have updated MyEclipse. Can you please elaborate more on what have you updated and from where? Did you update any plugins from MyEclipse Dashboard or did a software update? Or have you added any 3rd party plugin and restarted MyEclipse?
3. Can you look for pulse2.properties file? You should find it under ~\Genuitec\Common\configuration\pulse2.properties. Open pulse2.properties file and copy and paste pulse.handshake.id here for me. This will help me do a lookup into our server logs for any logged errors. Can you check ~\Genuitec\Pulse Explorer\pulse-explorer.exe, from above it looks like you should have this under C:\Programme\Genuitec\Pulse Explorer\pulse-explorer.exe Open the pulse explorer manually, it will give you options to login, register on login anonymously. You can login anonymously. This will redirect you to explorer. Click/Expand “My Profiles”. This will list you all of your MyEclipse profiles. Select the MyEclipse 7.1 profile, on the right hand pane, you will observe this lists base, shared and personal software. Personal software will contain all the newly added plugins/features. I would recommend you to review this list, whatever is the last added update, right click on that and click on [remove]. Now right click on “MyEclipse 7.1” on the left pane, it will display context menu with a lot of options. Select [Re-install and run]. Pulse will automatically resolve any dependency conflicts.
Inconvinience caused is sincerely regretted.

I have done the automatic update of MyEclipse directly after the start on the Dashboard from MyEclipse. There were 4 updates this morning (don’t remeber which ones).
I don’ have installed any additional third party plugins.

I see now that I’ve installed MyEclipse 7.5 (my shortcut says 7.1) .
I tried to reinstall and run MyEclipse but things got even worse. Now MyEclipse cannot even find the eclipse executable any more.
I think I’ve to reinstall the complete MyEclipse now. Half day lost…

support-joyMemberThank you for providing the details. I notice today quite a few people are facing the same problem when they update from ME 7.1.1 to 7.5. I will have our dev team members investigate more on this. If you can add any more pointers which will help us identify the root cause, we will appreciate it.
Inconvinience caused is sincerely regretted.
June 12, 2009 at 9:40 am #299318
uwe.plonusMemberAfter now installing MyEclipse 7.1 for six or seven times I found out the following:
When the updates Pulse Services and Extensions 2.4.2 and MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench 7.5.0 the above error occurs.
When only installing MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench 7.5.0 I cannot start the internal Tomcat anymore because it does not find the JRE from MyEclipse (JRE 1.5.0_011).
When only installing Pulse Services and Extensions 2.4.2 it also starts not up but with a different error message (which I don’t have now).
So my final solution is installing MyEclipse 7.1 fresh and then ignore the updates for the named packages.

Loyal WaterMemberuwe.plonus,
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. The “Update issue” has been resolved at our end. You should now be able to update without issues.June 14, 2009 at 8:42 am #299363I was not able to update at all on June 14 without MyEclipse coughing up a hairball with a non useful error message (after the “pulse update”) and then MyEclipse would not even start. I posted a separate message.
June 15, 2009 at 2:34 am #299377
uwe.plonusMemberSo, after some hours of work I got myeclipse work again.
I deinstalled everything what was possible with the Pulse application.
Then I deleted the complete directory C:\Programme\Genuitec.
Then I installed a new MyEclipse 7.1 (downloaded from the web site).
And after that I updated everything.
Now it works completely including the updates.

support-joyMemberuwe.plonus,
Good to hear that you are all set. Thank you for sharing your steps to install ME 7.1.
Mork,
We have received your mail at support@genuitec.com, support tech will use that channel to resolve your issue.
June 15, 2009 at 10:26 am #299404
Riyad KallaMemberWhen only installing MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench 7.5.0 I cannot start the internal Tomcat anymore because it does not find the JRE from MyEclipse (JRE 1.5.0_011).
The reason for this is because our default JRE shipping with MyEclipse changed from 7.1 to 7.5, the Tomcat connector’s JDK preference just needs to be updated to select the new setting.
