Kieran ElliottMemberI’m attempting to enter a MyEclipse subscription and am unable to click the finish button.
I’m running Ubuntu 7.10, the most recent Eclipse (3.3.2), and MyEclipse 6.0.1. I downloaded the manual install and followed the included instructions. Everything went smoothly and ended with a working MyEclipse. Unfortunately, I can’t register my subscription.
I’ve searched the forum and have found several other posts describing the same or a similar problem. The solution always seems to be to put the subscription details in the .myeclipse.properties file. I’ve tried placing such a file in my home directory and in the .myeclipse directory but neither seem to work.
Any help would be great.
Thanks,

Loyal WaterMemberThe $HOME/.myeclipse.properties file was correct…
1.Can you paste the contents of the .myeclipse.properties file here for me (blank out the sub info).
2.I hope you restarted MyEclipse after creating that file for the change to take effect.
3.Are you creating that file AND running MyEclipse as two separate users, that would cause the home dir to be different.

Kieran ElliottMemberHere is my .myeclipse.properties file:
LICENSE_KEY=XXX LICENSEE=XXXThe file is owned by my user and I have read/write permission on the file. I restarted MyEclipse after creating the file

Loyal WaterMemberKierse,
So when you enter the subscription information in the file, then restarts MyEclipse, and go to Windows > Prefs > MyEclipse > Subscription, do you see empty text fields and no sub information or you DO see the subscription info, and it’s marked as invaldi or disabled or expired? We’ve not seen this issue before and that is why I’m being so thorough, to completely understand what is going on. Thank you for your patience.

Kieran ElliottMemberI checked the subscription preferences page as requested and MyEclipse was indicating that the license was invalid. This prompted me to verify my group license with a fellow employee only to discover that the key given to me was missing the last character, rendering it invalid.
Once I entered that last, necessary number, MyEclipse started successfully without complaint. The subscription preferences page is now correctly displaying my subscription information.
Sorry for wasting your time with such a dumb mistake Nipun, I should have verified that before my original posting.
Thanks for all your help,
