My projects seem to have a different directory structure to my colleague who is using Eclipse with the com.sysdeo.eclipse.tomcat plugin. When he starts a new project he selects to create a Tomcat project, which he claims gives him the directory structure which conforms to the J2EE standard.
Using myEclipse, I can’t see an option to create a Tomcat project, so I’ve been choosing “Java Project” – am I doing it right?

Im not sure what the structure of a tomcat project should be but you can create a Web Project in MyEclipse. You can deploy a web project to the Tomcat server using MyEclipse. You can refer to this doc to get more information about the project structure of a web project.
