optendoMemberI think I have a similiar problem as https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/custom-properties-editor-won-t-open/. I am using a Matisse Form to make a GUI and the property buttons for any GUI Object (Label, Button, etc) don’t work. For instance in the picture below I am trying to change the jLabel’s text color to white by bring up the foreground color palette, but the color palette won’t come up when I click the “…” button. Now this ONLY happens after I have opened MyEclipse for the second time after installing Matisse4MyEclipse. Basically the “…” button works when opening the MyEclipse for the first time but if I close and reopen MyEclipse the “…” property won’t work.
The only way I have been able to temporarily fix this is by Uninstalling Matisse4MyEclipse from Help -> Software Updates -> Manage Configuration and then reinstalling via Help -> Software Updates -> Find and Install using the Archived Update Site zip file. But like I said at the end of the first paragraph, if I close and reopen MyEclipse for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc… time it won’t work.

wkandeMemberI am getting the same problem. You are not alone. I found that if you start myEclipse with a new workspace everything works. Close MyEclipose and return to the same workspace and it breaks.
Also I learned that you can delete the .metadata directory for the workspace, start MyEclipse, import the projects back in and it works. Of course quit MyEclipse and start it up again, broke again.

Riyad KallaMemberGuys, I’m working with 1 other support tech on reproducing this and so far we are coming up snake eyes.
Can you be super-explicit about how to reproduce this for us? What we understand so far is:
1. Clean install of MyEclipse 6.6
2. Run it (new workspace)
3. Use Matisse, all is well with the world
4. Shut down MyEclipse
5. Re-run it, opening the same workspace
6. Try and edit the form and the Properties controls don’t work and you cannot interact with them… right?Question: Are you leaving the form open so on restart it opens back up, or are you closing the form before shutting down the IDE?
Any help is appreciated.

optendoMemberThose steps seems correct. I leave the form open when I close down the IDE.

optendoMemberI will say I am using the 30 day trial currently if that makes any difference. I am waiting for my manager to approve purchasing MyEclipse.

Riyad KallaMemberoptendo,
If you are sure to close the form before exiting and restarting, does the behavior correct itself? We killed this bug in the previous release, I wonder if it’s back…
November 19, 2008 at 6:54 am #291196
optendoMemberIf I just tested what you said twice and it seems to work.
1. Close Form
2. Close Eclipse
3. Reopen Eclipse
4. Reopen Formand now I can get the “…” properties windows.

optendoMemberSo I guess the bug only exists if the GUI Builder (Matisse?) is open when I close Eclipse.

Oliver HoppeMemberHi,
i got exact the same problem. The solution with closing the matisse editor before ide shutdown works. But thats only a workaround. I hope you solve the problem.

Riyad KallaMemberGuys awesome finds, this is exactly what we needed to narrow down, this won’t be fixed in 7.0 (we are in final QA) but I can push to get ti in 7.1 shortly after that.

optendoMemberThat is a bummer. But I guess I can live with just closing my GUI Builder before I close Eclipse. Thanks for your time.
