    Chris,

    3. I did the required updates and this proxy problem got fixed but again is broken I CAN’T UPDATE my eclipse installation at all at the moment !

What flow is dying now? Are you seeing updates on startup in the MyEclipse Dashboard and then they won’t install, or are you seeing long-running “Checking for Updates…” tasks that never complete?

    Marguardtrick,

Now I cannot even add the Subclipse plugin without timeout issues and other strange errors (I do not use a proxy and connect directly to the internet from home).

What kind of proxy are you behind? Is your proxy information correctly displayed in Window > Prefs > General > Network Connections and it’s just not working, or is it not even displayed there?

    urlgrrrl,

    1) The removal of the “dropins” folder and hiding of the standard Eclipse folders is a radical change from M2 and, therefore, is a “bait and switch” of one product with another.

Definitely not bait-and-switch, it was a technical limitation at the time that we were aware of and the exec team decided to roll out with and fix as soon as possible with a followup release of the Pulse platform — If I had a time machine, I’d go back and throw myself across the office door to avoid it… but alas, no time machine.

All we can do is work forward on fixing issues as they arise and make the experience smoother and smoother.
