We appreciate your feedback and are evaluating how best to provide an open-ended model to enable users to choose an approach that works best for them. It’s not clear that this can be accomplished in a simple coherent manner. We will soon share more details as we make progress on a solution.

There is no access to compilation services or custom plugins at this time. We are continually working to provide increased custom build support. Additionally we are planning to provide you access to all of the cordova code and plugins to enable you to build your own custom solutions.
