When Installing MyEclipse 6.6 GA appear a Dialog Window with the title: “Feature Transfer Error” and the next content:

    Feature: DefaultFeature
    Component:
    File:
    Error: Error Catastrófico (catastrofic error)

    My environment’s configuration:
    Windows XP SP3
    Sun Java 6 update 10
    Without classpath
    JAVA_HOME set
    %JAVA_HOME%\bin in the path
There is plenty of disk space
There is no previous myeclipse installed.
The md5sum is the published for the installation file.

Can you go to http://www.poweredbypulse.com and grab the pulse launcher. After you have launched the pulse explorer, add the MyEclipse profile to it. Does that work for you?

    Hi there
Any more information on this issue? I can’t seem to get passed this error. The only difference between the original poster and myself is the windows SP (I currently have SP2) and the version of the JDK (I have 5.0).

As for Nipun answer, what do you mean by MyEclipse profile?

    Thanks in advance,

    Leo.

    Leo,
Once you download pulse and run it, the pulse explorer will show up. On the left hand side under My Profiles, you and right click and add MyEclipse.

We usually suggest users who run into installation issues with the all in one installer to switch to pulse as a workaround.

Let me know if the problem persists.

    Yes it works!

    Thank you for your help.

But I wondering if could I tried something before pulse. The drawback of pulse it’s that the download process is too long. I have two machines, despite the problem only happen in one of them, I’m worried what would I do if both suffer the same problem.

    idstq,
You could try downloading the All in One installer again because I think the installer you were using might have been corrupt.

In the original post I mentioned the md5sum is fine. It match exactly the number published in the download page.

Im not sure why the All on One is failing on your machine. Have you tried using the MyEclipse archive installer? Does that work for you? You need to download Eclipse 3.3 separately incase you decide to try the archive installer
