Hi, I’m getting a new development box and must re-install MyEclipse. Is there a way to backup preferences, plugins etc. Or do you have to re-install everything on a fresh install. Thanks.

To backup preferences use File > Export > Preferences, then reimport them on the new install the same way. Be sure to backup your workspace for sure and also on the new machine use the all-in-one installer for an easier setup (just one installer and you are done).

But yes any plugins like Subclipse that you were using need to be re-added. The good news is that we will start staging the most popular MyEclipse-compatible plugins that folks use from our discovery site very soon, so installs will become even easier.
