Hello, I’m trying to find out if I need to have a local Websphere install inorder to connect to a remote Websphere install. It seems like the documentation I’ve found says that I have to, but it doesn’t seem right.

You need to have Websphere client jars in your local system inorder to connect to a remote Websphere.
You can install just the Thin Client and setup the Remote WebSphere connector and point to the thin client’s install directory and you should be all set.
