    Hi guys,

I’m trying sincerely to replace the *very* slow IBM version of eclipse called IRAD with MyEclipse. We’re running Webspere portal 6.0. But I’m seeing several exceptions, one of which is the basic cannot find server.xml. Looks like this is b/c IRAD bundles it as a plugin within its version of eclipse so that it can maintain a seperate development environment and its portal/app server stub. So I’m guessing that there would be quite a few roadblocks to make this switch (not surprising given IBM would rather we keep using its products, even though they cost many development hours each week!)

I’m interested if any of you or the user community has tried and had any success using MyEclipse and websphere and more particularly websphere portal 6.

    Thanks for your help!!

I know lots of our users use WebSphere… but WebSphere portal, I think a few do and there was some leg work with add some custom JARs to the launch path to get the WebSphere 6 connector to launch it, but I don’t remember it being horrible or difficult or anything…

As far as the IRAD version of it… can you get a standalone install of WebSphere portal? That would work I think with ME and the WebSphere 6 connector.
