    Hi,

I generally think MyEclipse is an excellent Java enviornment.

    IMHO…

However, in MyEclipse JSF development doesn’t really doesn’t save me that much work and isn’t intuitive. When you double click a button, for example, in desgin mode, nothing happens (I would expect a code window to open).

In MyEclipse, there doesn’t seem to be support for many controls and I don’t see how to import my own. The dragging and dropping seems clumsy. In sllit-screen mode, the design and code panes get out of sync and I get a waving finger telling me I can’t return to the design portion of the page. I have to refresh the page first.

What I hope to see in the future (maybe by MyEclipse 5?) is something (a lot more) like Sun’s upcoming Java Creator 2, which has calendar, tree, and other controls built in already. Property sheets are intuitive and when you double click a button, for example, a code window opens … just like most developers would expect. I can also add my own controls.

There’s even a JSR 168 project option to enable creating portlets.

    Thanks for listening.

    Mork,

We’re doing a lot of work on making the work more intuitive with tons of new drag and drop support in MyEclipse 4.1. The first milestone release (next week) will have a large majority of these enhancements. Please give it a try when released and let us know what you think.
