So…I’m attempting to take screen captures as part of the process of uploading an app to the App Store. Unfortunately, the 3GS that I have is half the resolution required (480×320, 32 DPI). Apple now requires iPhone 4 resolution images (960×640, 72 DPI).

The “capture” utility in Mobione is of no use.

Also: Do I have to redo any banner images in my app to cover the iphone 4 resolution? Are the images scaled somehow?

    Help!!

re: hi-res images, if you lack an iphone4 we can snap a few pics of your app if you can share a webapp version using service such as MobiOne Upload WebApplication feature…

No, the images within your app will not be affected by the resolution diffs between iphone3 and retina display. But your native app’s app icon and startup image will be affected. You should include a 114×114 app icon and a 640×960 startup image for iphone4x retina displays. These are in addition to the 57×57 and 320×480 images for iphone3. See the MobiOne iOS Build Wizard’s images page for the exact image dimensions.

    Thanks again, Wayne.

I was able to view the web version via a friend’s 4S this morning. To my amazement, it looked great.

At this point, the plan is to send the friend the .ipa and have him snap some screen shots.

    Thanks!
