GuenterBeckerParticipantHello, I hope you feel fine.
Working with MobiOne I learned that the inbuild editors for writing the javascript code is very light (Brrr better to say its terrible). No colouring, no tabulator lines and so on. Even the Windows Notepad is a better tool.
Question: is there any possibility to tell MobiOne Design and Test Center to use an external editor (for example Notepad++).
Thank you for your answer.
Best regrads
Guenter
BrandonMemberI use Dreamweaver to write the scripts.
Stu WadeMemberI’m a Notepad++ fanboy.
Works well simply toggling between M1 and N++
GuenterBeckerParticipantHello,
thank you for the quick response but that does not meet my question.Let me make myself clearer.
If I like to tie a script to an button event i have to use the inbuild editor in the design center that is what I like to substitute with an other editor. In addition the other html text and the scripts out of the test center tools section have to be modfied by the internal editor. I know that I can edit the html/js/css files by open them in an external editor. But that causes that I have to leave MobiOne and to jump into another software. To do this way is like to be in the Stone Age. An acceptable way may be to start the external editor inside MobiOne.
Almost the best way and long term solution should be that the inbuild editor is killed and replaced by a better one.
Best regards Guenter
BrandonMemberCurrently there is no way to start an external editor. However, I believe I heard they are redoing the test center hopefully it will be better and more stable.
support-octavioMemberHi hgbecker,
We are planning to release 2.5 milestone-1 next week that will include Design Center editors for html, css, js, xml and general text editing. They will be available for the HTML widget and RunJS action property editors and will include code assist, syntax coloring and be configurable to your preferences. See attached image:

GuenterBeckerParticipantHello Octavio
sounds good. That’s exactly what I want!!
Unknown AuthorParticipantThat all sounds great. Remember, you don’t need to “tell” Mobione to “use” any Javascript editors. The files are right there on your harddrive, do whatever you want with them. Remember, too, that tools are no substitute for knowing what you’re doing and keeping track of your own design.
My last app was 3500 lines of Javascript using only Notepad.
