How will a SDC Eclipse package work in a shared installation? Such as Scenario 2 in
http://help.eclipse.org/helios/index.jsp?topic=/org.eclipse.platform.doc.isv/reference/misc/multi_user_installs.html

I’m mainly thinking about upgrades. Since the installation directory will be readonly for normal users, I guess its only the admin who can perform updates to that installation?

The problem of supporting shared installations is tricky and we’ve done some investigations into ways of handling these situations well. Please see the SDCOptimizationsfortheEnterprise.pdf attached to this topic.

This support is available in SDC 2013 SR2 with an extension to the installers. We can help you enable that if you need it. That being said, we have other customers asking for help with this problem and so we are looking at exposing it in a more easily consumed way in SDC 2013 SR3.
