Our project current has 450+ MobiOne screens, of which some 300 screens have pieces of text that, when the MobiOne apps are duplicated, need to be replaced with other text. This is the Master Template for a project that might be repeatedly used 100+ times with different content variations.

Example: [TEXT A] would need to be replaced with NORTH SIDE.

This replacement may need to take place in a good number of the screens in the template app.

How can we do a Search & Replace without opening each respective file and making the change manually before compiling the iOS app?

    Hi herb200mph,

It might be possible to find and replace text but the Text widget width would need to have been created wide enough to hold the new string.

    You can try an experiment:
    1) copy a .mobi file that you want to edit
    2) open the .mobi file (xml file) in an editor and search for string
    3) replace with new string (keeping new text similar width has old text if the text widget was not expanded
    4) save .mobi file
    5) launch file in Design Center and eval if it worked

If this works correctly then perhaps a global replace using a file utility. But backup all files before doing something like this

    ARRGGG…

Might be easier just to do it on a mobi file-by-file basis.

The text is in an html placeholder.

Heck, with over 400+ screens, changing 50-100 of them isn’t too bad!!!

    Thanks for the suggestion.

Will post any method we might have discovered.

    Regards.
