    Hi,

I have a fresh install of myEclipse and have downloaded the SimpleJSPExample.
    System =
    Myeclipse
    embedded tomcat
    embedded jre
vista (with no previous java development on this machine)

It was working last night and I even did some very simple code changes. This morning I started getting the error

An error occurred at line: 24 in the generated java file
The method getJspApplicationContext(ServletContext) is undefined for the type JspFactory

I’ve removed everything and redownloaded the app and I still have the problem.
    Any ideas ?

    Thanks in advance.
    John

Can you go to MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details and paste the information here for me.

Can you create a new web project, right click on it and go to Run As > MyEclipse Server Application. Does the index.jsp show up?

I don’t think that this will be much use to others but here goes.

    I deleted everything in C:\work\workspace\.metadata\.plugins\com.genuitec.eclipse.easie.tomcat.myeclipse\tomcat\webapps\

    because I noticed that C:\work\workspace\.metadata\.plugins\com.genuitec.eclipse.easie.tomcat.myeclipse\tomcat\webapps\SimpleJSPExample\WEB-INF\classes\com\myeclipseide\examples\jsp

still contained some of the older java files that I created.

It would appear that these were not cleaned up when I did a project clean 🙁

What should I have done to return to a known good state ?
Why would this cause this error ?
All open quesitons but I am moving on.
    Best of Luck

    bolger,
I would suggest you switch to a new workspace (File > Switch Workspace > Temp) and download the Example on Demand again and test this out. Does it work ?
