Currently we have installed Eclipse/MyEclipse locally on our individual workstations (under /usr/local). Is it possible to run Eclipse/MyEclipse from a shared location (i.e. /usr/local mounted from another PC) simultaneously?

I’m checking on this, I believe its just a license issue (getting a group license as opposed to individual licenses)

You will need to obtain a group membership to use MyEclipse in a Terminal Sever environment. Please note that MyEclipse doesn’t provide a floating license. The license management system doesn’t maintain state of user sessions. Therefore, you should plan your group size to match the total number of users, not simply what you believe will be the number of simultaneous users.

We do have a group membership so the licensing should be fine. It is not a Terminal Server environment, we just want to use a network share for a single Eclipse installation.

Should be fine then, the only thing to plan for is any performance problems you may run into pulling down ME over a network even if it is fast.
