A few days ago I used the Update Manager in Eclipse to upgrade from MyEclipse 2.5.0 to 2.5.1. Everything seems to be working smoothly. Just now, though, I was poking around in MyEclipse/plugins and noticed that it contains both the 2.5.0 and 2.5.1 versions of each plugin. For example, both com.genuitec.eclipse.core_2.5.0 and com.genuitec.eclipse.core_2.5.1 are there.

Is this intentional? It seems odd to me, but I don’t know much about how updates are supposed to work in Eclipse.

That’s how updates work in Eclipse. The update manager leaves the old sets around in cause you want to “roll back” to a previous configuration. It’s sort of a “safety net” thing.
