After having problems installing as per a a few posts back

I see that the website reflects:

Version: 4.1 GA | Filesize: 161.89 MB
Added on: 22-Jan-2006

But I keep on downloading just 142 MB?

What’s going on?

I thought that my download was corrupt as it was giving me an error on line 327 … guess I just have a newer version of tail on Fedora Core 4?

It also complains when it tries to build a RPM… not that I understand why it tries….?

It’s not that I was using gcj (really don’t understand why the distros are adding it these days)

What I do for other peoples reference is

# alternatives –install /usr/bin/java java /pathtoyourjava/bin/java 1506 (I use the jdk ver)

Then when you go

# java -version

you’ll see it’s correct

I also have JDK_HOME and JAVA_HOME env variables set just in case
