    Help! Recently I have made an app with mobione and distributed on the app store. It was successfully uploaded. However, app was very unresponsive and slow. What is the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    app url: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/complete-guide-for-diablo-iii/id524017006?mt=8

    I may be releasing an update and hope to fix the situation and upload a fixed app.

    How does the webapp version perform running on your iOS device(s) in Mobile Safari?

    @wayne

    Thnks for the fast reply. I did not try and have no idea how to try webapp as the idea was to make a native paid app. Sry new to all these terms. 🙁

    Hi Octave/Wayne,

    I just tested webapp. The only problem was the first page took quite some time to load and the safari tool bar blocks some parts of my app. Otherwise, its great. No transition lag like my native app. Native app took like 10 sec to transit between pages.

    Btw my native app was built on my laptop with following specs:

    i5-480M 2.53Ghz, 8GB DDR3 Ram, Nvidea GT425M Graphics

    Hope to hear from you soon.

    Hi Octave/Wayne,

    I tried building again with my desktop, a more powerfull Q9550 but still lags and 10 sec delay between pages.

    Pls help ASAP as my negative comments on iTunes store is building up.

    Thnx

    Finally got a few mins to install and run your app ($0.99 in your account 🙂 )
    As you have reported it looks great but screen transitions are extremely slow even on our iphone4s. This is unusual and we would like to research it further. Is there anyway you can share you entire app including .mobi files for us to inspect and profile its execution? You can send it to support at genuitec dot com, use title: “Mobione data from BeliosInnovations”

    Hi Wayne,

    Thnx for my +1

    Pls refer to my latest email sent via yousendit. I had problems attaching in previous emails due to file size limit.

    Hope to hear from you for fixes soon. Im planning to add in content and fix lag in my next update.

    Thnx

    We are continuing to research your app performance issue. Here is what we know atm:
    1) screen transitions are peppy on desktop browser such as Chrome
    2) webapp version running from App Center on iphone4s runs at adequate speed. No big delays when selecting buttons or performing transition. This is the same machine with your itunes app that runs slow.
    3) next step is to build an internal version of your app and profile it to understand why it is slow…
    We are hoping to get to this tonight or early tomorrow (Fri). The profiling may require deeper investigation. I’ll let you know what we know asap.

    No info yet. We have not had a chance to profile it yet. Will share info as soon as we are digging into it deeper. At the moment it appears to be something quirky at the phonegap framework level which gets pretty deep. That is the backdrop as I have not seen such a problem before like yours, and I’ve see a lot of apps.

    @Wayne,

    So Mobione cannot solve this problem? My app was in top 25 till the bad comments due to the terrible delay piled up. Im desperate to solve this.

    Using MobiOne 2.0 please rebuild your app and evaluate the results. We did some profiling and identified a glitch that I think was impacting screen transition performance.

    I was premature in claiming improved performance…. (poop!)
    I did some original tests on iphone4s which was fairly responsive. But then downgraded testing on lesser devices such as iphone3, 3GS and 4. Transition proved to be slow on these devices.

    We continue our investigation.

    @BeliosInnovations

    Our team has been picking over your app to understand the source of the performance problem. Here’s the scoop on why your app performance is slow. We removed all images and it is zippy fast. Then we analyzed the memory footprint of your apps in memory. The result is in excess of 100Mb of RAM just for images. The jpgs have good compression but get expanded in memory and that is a concern on mobile devices that are much more resource constrained that your desktop.

    Here is a discussion where a 70mb cap is proposed… http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5887248/ios-app-maximum-memory-budget

    Consider image optimization to see if you can bring down the runtime memory requirements of the app.

    Hi,
    I have just added pages to my android app & having same, slow, unresponsive, jerky actions when I install it on my phone.
    The previous version worked fine at 1.3MB, this one is only 1.6MB.
    It is a very simple layout, nothing fancy except for a few URL links and some images.
    I have tried twice building it from scratch but nothing.
    THe last build # was 2101212
    Have been on this for the last 2 days.
    What am I doing wrong or is it something to do with the latest mobione version? (my previous working app was built under previous mobione version)
    Thank you
