I have eclipse 3.4.2 running with MyEclipse configured as a plugin (since the launch of MyEclipse 7 it’s been running this way) via the software updates.

along the way, i’ve been updating all my components fairly regularly with no issues… but this week, i can’t update a thing anymore… when i click update, it nicely shows me all the components i can update with the new versions, and when i decide to update all or just pick one item to update, it fails because i invariably get one or more errors saying:

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
      No repository found containing: com.genuitec.eclipse.aspphp.core/osgi.bundle/7.1.0.zmyeclipse7102009030516
(sometimes more repository error messages here depending on the update i am trying to do)

Its when i try to update myEclipse (i’ll get a pile of “items”) or any other plugin i have installed (when i get just one item – which is the myEclipse osgi bundle… now why another plugin update is searching for that is another issue)

normally if one has an issue here with the “base” eclipse updates, its because the update site is down – and i typically add another site to update from until the update site is back — but with myeclipse i dont seem to have any option. or do i?

this is on 2 different desktop computers from home and work, so i dont think network connectivity is any issue…

    figured it out…
if i remove the myeclipse site from Software Updates -> available software -> manage sites…
ok myself out of the software updates dialog…
then go back and re-add it, and try to “install” myeclipse 7 as a new plugin, it told me that it exists and will update instead. and there i go.

dont know what the process actually did to make it work but it works nevertheless.

    smartbargains,

Good to hear that you have figured out everything. Looks like a conflict issue with the Eclipse version and the plugins. I would like to point you that MyEclipse 7.1.1 is officially tested with Eclipse 3.4.1. We are currently working on another update with base as Eclipse 3.4.2. With the new release you don’t have to remove and add MyEclipse plugin to Eclipse. Sorry for the inconvinience.
