I have a standard edition subscription to MyEclipse and I am trying to find out how to add Spring Security capabilities to my application through the “add spring capabilities” option.

I couldn’t find the acegi jars there? Are they not present in the “MyEclipse library” ? How can I get them. Also I am wondering if there is any myeclipse tutorial on spring security?

I appreciate your time and help.

    thanks,
    praveen

    Praveen,
We don’t have any MyEclipse tutorial on security. Im not sure what you are trying but incase you want to add additional jars with Spring Capabilities, you can go to Windows > Prefs > MyEclipse > Project Capabilities > Spring and add the jars under the appropriate spring version there.

    Nipun,

Thanks but I couldn’t find the required Spring Security 2 jars

at your specified ” Windows > Prefs > MyEclipse > Project Capabilities > Spring”

Can you please confirm which Jar I need to add,The reason I ask that I because II think MyEclipse doesn’t have the jars to add Spring Security jars under its “add spring capabilities”.

    thanks,
    praveen

    Praveen,
Im not sure what jars have to be added. The location I gave is where you need to add the jar when you get the list. Im not aware of the jars that have to be added.

yeh that is fine Nipun. I figured that MyEclipse’s spring libraries doesn’t have the Spring Security jars built into them. I had to add them manually. If you can please log it as a new feature request.

For Spring security 2, we need the jar file
    spring-security-core- 2.0.1.jar

Currently I have to download it from the springsource website and added the jar manually to enable spring security to my web application.
