I am using Eclipse Version 3.0, Unfortunately i was stupid enough to import a preferences file from one of my colleague, without out saving mine somewhere else. I lost the functionality by which i would be able to start Tomcat from my Eclipse.

Everytime i try to start tomcat it gives me a error saying ” A configuation error occured during startup. Please verify the preferences field with the promt: TOMCAT JDK Name.

    Under windows/preferences/my eclipse/Application Servers/Tomcat 5/JDK/

The tomcat server is enabled and the tocat home directory is set to
    C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\tomcat-5.0.27

What you need to do is navigate to the Tomcat 5 settings, then go to the JDK tab and click “Add” then configure a new JDK (not JRE) and use that to launch the app server.
