    1. How to start WAS 5.1 from MyEclipse?

    2. Can we deploy only WAR file in WAS 5.1? Can it be done from MyEclipse?

    RE: 1) You need to configure the WAS 5 connector under Window > Preferences > MyEclipse > WebSphere 5

    The basic process of working with WAS5 is the same as WAS 6, which is covered explicitly in this tutorial:

    RE: 2) No, you’ll need to deploy an EAR that contains your WAR, but yes, it can be done from MyEclipse. Please read the WebSphere 6 quickstart as the steps are the same although the web UI of the WebSphere admin console has changed slightly between WAS 5 and 6.
