Hi,
I upgraded to Eclipse 3.1, MyEclipse 4r2 — and I’m having a problem editing my struts config files.
I get the following error message:
Unable to create this part due to an internal error. Reason for the failure: Project ‘MetricDictionary’ is not configured as a MyEclipse Web-Struts Project. Therefore the MyEclipse Struts Editor may not be used with struts-config-MENU.xml. The default XML Editor has been used to open the file instead.

I had no problem editing the struts config files in the previous version. I looked into the Project Properties to see if there was a “struts flag” or something I could set, but did not find any.Lee

How exactly did you upgrade from Eclipse 3.0 to 3.1? Also did you make sure to add a new mapping in your file associations OR content types under your workbench to map the struts-config-menu.xml file to the MyEclipse Struts Editor?How should this be done? I downloaded the latest eclipse 3.1, but apparently that was not the right thing to do.
When I tried to import the MyEclipse stuff it complained about not having a valid license agreement.
I have an email with the subscription code, I just don’t get a chance to enter it.
What are the steps that I need in order to upgrade?1) Download Eclipse 3.1 SDK, unzip it to a new location.
1.5) Download MyEclipse 4.0 Milestone 2 (or 3 next week) and install it against your Eclipse install.
2) Start it up, create a new workspace.

The error message is correct, you need to right click on your project root and go to MyEclipse > Add Struts Capabilities and configure them for your project.@support-rkalla wrote:

Thus the strus files are already a part of the project…and the project works. Do I risk anything by rerunning the Add Struts Capabilities?

Ok…I right clicked on the project and choose to add struts.
I noticed that the “add jars” was an option, so I unchecked them — and did a clean on the project aftward.

I’m sure you guys will. I’m very pleased with your product.
BTW….it messed up my web.xml — but since I have several versions of my web.xml that copy over when I do an “ant” build, it was no problem restoring.
I’m sure it’s something I did wrong…but thought I’d give you a heads up nonetheless.

Consultant created the project and I’m just diving in now… It has the java nature (could I just add struts nature?). There are a couple of commons jars missing (from the struts-lib dist) in the project and the jakarta_oro jar. I don’t know what is necessary to trigger this context menu to enable Struts. Is there a particular version of Struts that needs to be available? Where?
Is jdk version significant?
I’d certainly like to make use of MYEclipse struts features but I’m limited in what I can do to this project. Though, while I grok this project I can muck about with it on my own sandbox, but I’d need a path that allows the least disruption to really use this.

If the option is not available there are two reasons:1) It is a Java Project and not a Web Project which it must be
2) It already has Struts Capabilities added to it.Update: used configure as web, then the add struts item was available. all is good. I like the struts model view (MyEclipse Struts Editor). Nice. 🙂
