Is there a plan for MyEclpise to directly support WebSphere Application Server version 6? The latest release of MyEclipse still supports only up to WAS version 5 for deploying and debugging. I understand there are workarounds (scripted deployment, remote debugging), but I am interested to know when full integration with WAS 6 will be available.

I have seen some discussion of this topic in the forums, but have not seen any definitive answers or release dates.

    Thank you.

    jdimond,
This will be in our final 4.0 release but won’t make the cute for Milestone 2. Most likely will make Milestone 3 or RC 1.

    Thanks, Riyad, for your reply.

Do you have a rough idea of the release dates? My team is trying to settle on a standard development tool for both WebLogic 8 and WAS 6 development and I’m wondering whether the MyEclipse functionality will be available in time for us.

    Hi

Whilst we are waiting, and so that I can keep my audience interested, could anyone provide pointers to how we can get what is available from MyEclipse to support WAS 6.0 please?

    Thanks

    Nathan

    Nathan,

Our WebSphere 6 support will operate a lot like our WebSphere 5.1 support, once it’s implemented. In the meantime, you can still debug a WebSphere 6 server right now by using our Remote Debugging facility. Details on how to set that up are in our Remote Debugging Quickstart which is available in the MyEclipse Help system or on the website directly here: http://myeclipseide.com/enterpriseworkbench/help/index.jsp?topic=/com.genuitec.myeclipse.doc/html/quickstarts/remotedebugging/index.html
