    renamed thread from “I cannot center a link” to “tel number auto-format goofed”

    Hi everyone,
    I’m planning to purchase the full MobiOne version so I tried to create a test IPhone App.
    I’ve put a link on the bottom of my “homepage” and that’s not centered when downloaded and tested on my IPhone. The problem is that on the design center and on the Test Center is right in the middle. How is it possible?
    It only works as a simulation but when downloaded on the real thing, it’s not how it seems.

    I will be glad to look into this. Can you share a .mobi file and a possibly a URL where I can see the rendering issue on a device.

    ok, the problem was not the hyper link. It was the phone number.
    If I write a phone number as a text, it automatically transforms in a number to call, it gets underlined and so on.
    try this on an IPhone : http://deleted

    Yea, the telephone formatting is definitely goofing up. The source of the problem is iOS mobile safari is auto-formatting detected phone numbers. The 1.4.2 release planned for next week will provide a new setting to enable/disable this behavior when generating HTML. By default it will be disabled to avoid the situation you are encountering.

    If you need to disable the auto-format of telephone numbers sooner than the 1.4.2, you can add this html tag to the head of your html page:

    <meta name=”format-detection” content=”telephone=no”>

    thank you Wayne, problem solved thanks to the string u suggested.
    Now the question is if I purchase today the 1.4.1 version, will the 1.4.2 be available for free as a patch?
