Some how CVS didn’t get the .tern-project file integrated correctly, now I’m unable to fix the problem because whenever I delete the .tern-project file, MyExclipse just automatically recreates it.

I need that to stop so that I can resolve the issues with CVS.

Can anyone help?

Can you please turn off the ‘Build Automatically’ (from menu Project > Build Automatically) after deleting the .tern-project file and check if it gets recreated again?

Already tried that. Makes no difference. After I delete the file, the moment I right click the project entry in the MyEclipse Explorer, the file is recreated.

Please follow the steps below as workaround to disable generation of .tern-project file in the project :

1. Edit the project’s .project file and remove the below line :
org.eclipse.wst.jsdt.core.jsNature

2. Edit the org.eclipse.wst.common.project.facet.core.xml file located in the project’s .settings folder and remove this line :

3. Save both the files and the .tern-project file will not be regenerated.

#2 : Remove <installed facet="wst.jsdt.web" version="1.0"/> from the .settings/org.eclipse.wst.common.project.facet.core.xml

Can you please send us a screenshot of the files you are seeing in the project’s .settings folder?

If you do not have the org.eclipse.wst.common.project.facet.core.xml file in the .settings folder, then you can ignore the instruction. It is not mandatory. Please check if the .tern-project file regenerates after the step #1.

Sorry that you are still seeing the issue.

Which version of MyEclipse are you working with? Please share the MyEclipse Installation Details from menu MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details.

Please first delete the <nature>org.eclipse.wst.jsdt.core.jsNature</nature> from the .project file. If you see a tern nature in the .project file then please delete that line too. Next delete the .tern-project file and check how it works.

If you are still seeing issues, please strip the project of its source files and send us all the .* files (.settings,.project,.classpath etc) to help us replicate the issue at our end.
