As you may have heard, Java (although it’s the most popular language on the planet) was just “deprecated” by Apple within the last couple weeks.
Apple may not even include Java in “Lion” (OS/X, 10.7).
Whether Oracle steps up to support Java on the Mac is open to question at this point and I can’t find any information that they will or even might.
Therefore, I wanted to ask how MyEclipse plans to get around this potential Java JDK disruption on the Mac that could happen as early as Summer ’11 with OS/X 10.7.

Like the entire Java community, we’re watching these developments quite closely. What will actually happen is anyone’s guess, but there are multiple organizations the would like to see Java remain on the Mac, among them Oracle, OpenJDK, and Eclipse. Given that, we believe some solution will be available in the timeframe to prevent a disruption of Mac support for Java, especially since there are already reports that Eclipse runs fine on the Soy Latte JRE now.
