Upon downloading the latest (though still Beta) MyEclipse plugin (Version 3.8.4 Beta-1), on Mac OS X 10.3.8, the resulting InstallAnywhere package seems, for some of us, to come with an ironic twist – it refuses to install or even open. Closer inspection reveals that the actual binary file under Enterprise Workbench Installer.app/Contents/MacOS is not executable. This problem is easily solved by marking that file as an executable binary.

    From the terminal:
    $> cd Enterprise\ Workbench\ Installer.app/Contents/MacOS
    $> chmod +x Enterprise\ Workbench\ Installer

Now, double-clicking from the finder should start the installer and you’re well on your way to using the plugin.

    Notes on the issue:
The problem seems only to occur on 10.3.8. We tried another Mac OS X machine that was running 10.3.7. No problems. Again, another box running 10.3.8 nessecitates the workaround outlined above.

    Good luck and Enjoy!

Very odd in deed, I am going to ask our Mac guy to look at this. Thanks for the heads up!
