I’d like this feature to mimic the Java TODO task, that recognizes a TODO in comments. So if <%– TODO blah –%> occurs in my jsp, a task is generated.

Task Tag support is a “no brainer” for any eclipse editor.
As a sidenote, the tags the should be recognized are defined in Preferences-> Java -> Task Tags.(I think this was requested ages ago, but the more visibility it gets the more likely the ME team is to implement it)
We’re looking at it for x.8 Beta 2, but it’s being weighed against some other JSP 2.0 enhancements. I don’t know if it will make the next beta or not, truthfully.
We just upgraded to 4.0, still no TODO support. How hard can this be?
It is rarely an issue of hard, it’s *always* and issue of prioritization and resource management.
+1 from me as well. I seem to remember another thread about this awhile back, and I think it was requested there that the same be added to XML files to – I’d love to see both.
For some reason I prefaced a few of my comments in some JSPs awhile back w/ TODO, and I just noticed them in my eclipse task list. I see that both JSP and HTML type comments are supported – this is awesome.
Any chance on this becoming a feature in the XML editor as well? At any rate – many thanks.

I just saw the news on your front page about Matisse for Eclipse, so the answer above would be a definite ‘almost’.

I’m really not too sure what the Genuitec group has planned for it, it’s hush hush until EclipseCon then I think we will have a big outline for everyone and downloads too and since it will become part of MyEclipse it will get enhanced and improved over time.
