    Hi

I would like a refund as I have found that MobiOne is virtually unusable in its current state. Even a simple one page app with 2 (identical) text boxes does not work as it is supposed to.

Let me start by saying I’m sorry to hear of your disappointment. Your satisfaction is our top priority. Please contact our sales team with your request (sales at genuitec dot com). Include a link to this post and include my name Wayne along with your mobione license key.

In fairness to us and MobiOne can you share more details of your experience. Your scenario for a UI with a couple of input fields seems pretty simple and something that MobiOne should have helped you with. What’s the bug(s) that are causing you grief. Your feedback goes a long way toward improvement.

    Hi

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    I am having multiple issues:

1/ I have created a screen and moved and edited items on the screen. I then create 2 identical text boxes on the screen 9on a panel) with multiple lines of text in each. Width set to Automatic.
I run in test centre and switch to iPhone and the 2nd text box is wrapped and fits the screen, the 1st box doesn’t.

I recreate the screen completely and all objects exactly and save elsewhere. I run in test centre. The text boxes are in a different place on the iPad and now both wrap in the iPhone display.

I compare the generated output in Winmerge and the 1st screen contains many items that have been deleted. When I inspect the items in the DOM, the 1st textarea has the nowrap attribute overridden.

I can take the problem .mobi file, save it elsewhere without the generated code and it then works. So I assume the generated code has a problem. If I delete the generated code and leave the .mobi in the same place I still
    have teh issue.

2/ I create a new screen with multiple textareas, all set to Automatic Width, with different text assuming this should now work, however only one of the textareas has wrapped when viewed as iPhone. the rest are cut off and not displayed.

3/ If I open multiple screens in the designer, the memory leaks lie ka sieve, it will continue increasing until it crashes. I can use for about 20 mins before it crashes.
If I test regularly, at times the Test Centre wil lstop displaying, so I need to rstart.

So far I have spent about a day creating one screen with 5-6 several text areas trying to get them to disply in iPhone and iPad. The only way I can see to do this is by using one text area only on screen at a time.

To ensure the screens will dsiplay as expected it is safer to create separate versions for each device ie. Not cross device compatible.

If there is a problem, I have to recreate the screen to ensure it is not due to generated code errors.
The designer and Test centre crash regularly.

I could have created these screens in HTML and CSS in a 10th of the time with no issues.

I Have attached the (current) problem files.

    Regards

Thanks for this feedback. I took a look at your scenarios and believe the your problem stems from the Text widget being laid out on single lines in a large ipad format and then downsizing them to a smaller iphone format. In a nutshell the Text widget is configured to not wrap by default unless you explicitly wrap it in the designer. I can see the confusion.

If you were to layout your text for the smaller format where you explicitly wrap the text to fit the display width and then upscale it to the ipad I believe the text will reflow to your expectation. I shared your feedback with the dev team and they acknowledge that we can and will improve the text widget to better support configuration of wrap/nowrap.

    Apologize for your disappointment.
