    Take an arbitrary action mapping.

Bring up the Edit Action dialog from the outline.

Modify the form name field, or the form attribute field, or the action path field(!!!) (just enter a character, no need to move the focus away), and you get a Type Already exists error message, which is not an error but rather a mandatory thing in case of editing an already existing action mapping.

If you edit any other field before editing one of the mentioned three fields, you won’t get this error, so this is probably some leak in initializing the dialog for an edit action scenario.

It might also pop up for other fields to be edited first, I haven’t checked this all through.

This is with a pristine 3.0RC2 and 3.8M1 installed manually on WinXP.

Thanks for this report. I have replicated this behavior and we’ll have a fix for it in the beta-2 release.

Was this fixed? I just today right clicked on an Action in the struts-config.xml design view, and selected ‘properties’. My goal was to add another local forward to the action. I clicked on the Forwards tab, clicked ‘Add’, and typed in the Forward Name. After that, I clicked on Browse to find the new path, and then clicked the ‘Add’ button to complete the adding of the new Forward. The above error message then appeared. There was no way I could find to remove it w/o cancelling the process.

If I right click a blank space in the design window though and select ‘New Forward’, then ‘Local Forward’, it seems to work.

    Linux (Debian Sarge)
    Eclipse 3.0.1, Build id: 200409161125
MyEclipse Version: 3.8.2, Build id: 200409171200-3.8.2
Eclipse was freshly installed as of 3.0.0, upgraded to 3.0.1
ME freshly installed at 3.8.1, upgraded to 3.8.2

    Thanks, Paul

This seems to have slipped into 3.8.2, I will file it with a high priority righ tnow.

Also, I tried editing Forwards with the dialog. I can successfully add, edit, and remove forwards from within the confines of the dialog. However, I cannot save these changes as the Finish button remains disabled. Only the Cancel button is enabled and using it just throws away any changes you’ve made in the dialog.

    Fixed in 3.8.3.
