Auto-update installed MyEclipse v3.8.5 (all seemed to go OK).

But now I can’t open my JSPs in the MyEclipse editor.

From other posts, it looks like a conflict with some other module – but I’m not sure where to look for log files etc.

What is your Eclipse Build ID (Help > About)

Also check your log file for the full stack trace for the exception and paste it here please: <workspace dir>\.metadata\.log

Also did you use -clean to restart in your command line after upgrading?

I have the same issue but upgrading to 4.0 is not an option at the present time. Is there a way to roll back or fix that JSP issue.
Version: 3.1.0
Build id: I20050513-1415

bigre,
You are not using a final GA build of Eclipse 3.1, so if you want to use Eclipse 3.8.4 then you have to use the most recent stable 3.0.2 release of Eclipse 3.0, you can’t use a pre-release of Eclipse 3.1.

If you want to use MyEclipse 4.0, then you need to use the latest stable of Eclipse 3.1 (which I think is 3.1.1)

We have MyEclipse3.8.4QF2 and Eclipse 3.0.1 and up until today the myeclipse editor was working fine. What can be done to remedy this without an upgrade? There must be a very common issue that causes this and I would think an answer other than you must upgrade is neccessary. Especially given I KNOW the two worked well together until today. Thanks.

The issue is likely that the Eclipse plugin cache got stale as it sometimes
does not cleanly rebuild or gets out of sync. To rectify the problem you’ll need
to restart Eclipse with the -clean flag one time: eclipse.exe -clean

That should resolve the problem. If it doesn’t, can you please post all the information we request in the Posting Guidelines thread at the top of this forum? That will give us some context to determine the issue a bit better.
