I have to deploy a particular project with context root “/”. I have done this for years with previous versions of Myeclipse. After updating to

    Version: 8.6
    Build id: 8.6-20100723

It seems not to be possible anymore.

    Steps to reproduce:
    Create a web project “test”
Edit project properties->myeclipse->web->Web context root – set it to “/”

Deploy the project. Observe that the test project is deployed as “/test”, not “/”

    wermuth,

What is the app server you are deploying your web project to? I have verified this works fine in ME 8.6 with MyEclipse Tomcat as my app server. I notice that you are on

    Build id: 8.6-20100723

    The latest build id is
    Build id: 8.6-20100806

In case the above doesn’t work with Tomcat app server, I would recommend you update to the latest build. Open MyEclipse IDE, from menu options click on Help > MyEclipse Configuration Center. Choose *Dashboard* tab. Select the updates to be applied. This will list the updates in the *Pending Changes* section. Click on [Apply x changes] button. This will open a wizard which will guide you through the rest of the steps. When prompted, please choose to restart the IDE.

Let me know how this works for you.

    Best.
